Example: Split Material by Mesh

A wood frame made of different elements with a single material.

How do you get different materials for each element of the frame? We use the Split Material by Mesh command. In the list, right click on the name of the material (or in the Preview window, right click on the material).

Then, in the list, a material is created for each mesh of the wood frame. By default, the created material has the same name (and the same texture, if any is attached).

This way, each mesh of material can be modified independently from one another.
